Help please what are these??

Can anybody tell me what these pods are that are growing on the leaves of my friends potatos.
I do not know what variety of spud they are.

I think, but not sure, that they are the flowers which have turned to seed.  A spud expert will know for sure.  I wonder if the spuds are ready?

Yeah, they are the seeds of the spud.  If you open them you will find literally loads of tiny seeds.  One of the girls on here said she'd grown some spuds from them once, or was trying to.  I had a go last year, but nothing came up!!!!!

Nothing to worry about.  The potato is a relative of the tomato.   :wink:

Yes I believe it is the solanacea family Ice.

I wonder if the 'potato apples' were left to ripen then sown would they produce more plants?

According to Google, potatoes don't grow true from seeds, which is probably why they don't sell them. :wink:

Good advice, IHM, (though I understand Old Stratford is the origin of the expression "a cock and bull story" so can we believe you??!!)

You might be able to, then again you might not :wink:

You're almost right though, it's Stony Stratford where the two pubs stlll remain.  Old Stratford is just 'tother side of the river.  Hence Stony Stratford = street ford wot is a bit stony. :lol:
