Very early blackberries?
« on: July 25, 2010, 13:33 »
Just pottering about in the back garden and noticed ripe blackberries already! I know some are going for a cold winter again in weather circles and it's probably wise to watch out for signs in nature but blumming heck.. If I'm right they are at least 3/4 weeks early aren't they?

Some folks have the odd black ones already on our site and my Loch Ness ones are a deep red, and we're quite a bit north of you!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I posted this pick on 8th August last year, and we're not so very far away from that. The box bottom right has blackberries in it and we'd been picking for a little while before that.

North Lincolnshire -- we have taken about a dozen well ripe ones off already, seems about 3 weeks early at least.

We have quite  a lot of ripe ones around.
