Apple and strawberry Jam recipe

Apple and strawberry Jam recipe

I've discovered some crab apple trees near my house and I have wild strawberries growing at the plot.

I fancy making a jam with both but wouldn't know what ratio of each fruit to use, does anyone have any suggestions?

We bought some at a farmer's market and the kids really liked it - the apple cut through the stickyness and cloying of the strawberries. I would say the ratio seemed to be about 50/50 but there was no indication on the label. I think crabapples are pretty high in pectin, so you might not need to add any? Where's Val when you need her?  :D

If you go for 50/50 you will not need pectin!

Yes, sorry, im half asleep this morning ::) But am looking forward to making them, just got to decide wether i buy a load of jam jars in time to make it this weekedn or buy the cheap ones from asda :unsure:
