Did the only decent thing and put my cucumber plant out of it's misery ... or so I thought!  Left it in disgust on top of the raised bed two days ago and there are tens of babies on it, none of which seem to be aborting.  What can I say.  Maybe tough love does work.

If they've suddenly started setting properly outdoors it sounds like a possible pollination issue which in my experience is more common with all the cucurbits (apart from the all-female varieties) than in many other people's experience!

Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older

I have grown cucumbers for the first time this year. The variety is called Flamingo, I can honestly say I have done nothing to them but feed them and they have produced loads of cucumbers. Don't know if I am just having beginners luck, will let you know next year.

For the first time this year I have got 2 cucumbers to be proper plants ie not keelover as seedlings but they have produced nothing.  They were meant to be all female variety.  Is too late for any now?
Time waits for no man and I can't wait for growth.

Mine are an all female variety aswell and up until this week have done nothing!  Suddenly they have sprung into life and have 'babies' all over them!   We were going to give up but have decided to let them do their own thing! If they turn out like our marrows then I will be experimenting with a combination of the two!

Sometimes they didn't even yellow up but just died, if you see what I mean, just went rotten.  Will take a look in a mo to see the latest development.
