is it best to remove leaves

Hi folks is it best to remove lower leaves on sprout plants when sprouts begin to form on stem? so as to transfer energy to sprouts instead of the leaves :?

I'd say no. The 'energy' comes from the leaves

Not whilst they're green and making energy as W-G says.

Once they start to yellow, I'd have them off, otherwise they'll drop on the ground, rot and then you run the risk of disease.
