I have harvested my over wintering onions and a friend of the OH has platted them while the stalks were green.  There are some bits of mould growing on the leaves platt but the onions lokk fine any suggestions?

I'd say unplait them and allow to dry and ripen in the sun before making them into a string again.

I would agree with the others that onions are best not plaited until they are dry.

The golden rule with drying onions is when you think they are dry, dry them some more.

Any mould in the stems will work its way into the buld and they will not keep.

Spread them out and let them dry...  Aim to eat the ones that do not look 100% first.

Once the others are as dry as the weather will let them be keep a close eye on them in storage and remove any that show signs of softness or mold. 

One rotten apple onion can spoil the barrel!
