following advice
« on: July 15, 2010, 09:16 »
i read on here recently that staking the brussels  can be a good idea. so i just went outside and used a hand trowel to knock in some poles.... when i missed and have just taken off half of my little finger  well a big chunk from the side of the nail  ;)

So i can conclude, it may be beneficial to the plant but not necessarily you!!

Ouch!

You obviously missed the bit of advice about always using the right tool for the job (a wooden mallet would have been much safer unless you are particularly accident-prone!)  :nowink:
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older

Ouch!  Sounds painfull. I got myself a nice rubber mallet for such occasions. Well, to be honest, my wife bought it for me because she thought I was a menace to myself!

Get well soon!

Oh dear, poor you.  You will end up with lots of cuts and bruises while you're gardening, it comes with the territory.  I am a klutz and get into all sorts of scrapes despite trying very hard to work safely
