I have 4 types of climbing bean growing really well but they have all exceeded the 7foot canes.  They appear to be drooping down do I leave them or do I nip out the growing tip?  If I need to nip out the tip how do i recognise it?
Time waits for no man and I can't wait for growth.

I just leave them, but if you feel the need to pinch it out, you can identify it as where the plant sort of errr.... finishes.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Nip them off if they've reached the height of your canes / frame or whatever you have them climbing up.
As stated in the previous post you can recognise the 'growing tip'.
Its the end of the plant furthest from the ground.  ::)
The successes and failures of each year keep me motivated for the following year.

Nip the highest tips out if they have nothing left to hang on to!

(They will grow about another foot after you have done that as they're not the brightest plants on the planet when if comes to taking the hint!)  ;)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

I'll leave them!  Unless they start bending the poles down...

I don't think it makes that much difference what you do; the only possible issue is that wigwams and inverted "V" formations tend to result in bunching and congestion at the top of the poles which makes finding and picking the beans a bit tricky (this is where the "Munty" design comes into its own, of course!)

I have X frames and just leave them - they dangle down and are easily "pickable"
