After pulling one and looking seems my garlic is gonna be good.....I hope.  Anyway how would I dry them if it threatens rain as an alternative.

My variety is Allium Sativum from Wilkinsons.

Also whats all this hard neck and soft neck about.

Last year I tried to dry mine in the utility room and it made the entire house stink (not that it bothered me ) Greenhouse / shed / garage or even under a garden table will do, just keep them as dry as you can and allow as much air around the bulb as possible.

Hardneck has a hard stalk in the center (which forms the scape) softneck doesn't. I prefer the taste of the hardneck but they don't seem to keep as long.

Oh yes think I have seen that in supermarket ones.  I'll dry them in the wendy house then, (or summer house its real name), thats where I dried my onions last year.  I did do the onions on a wire mesh shelf from an old 'why the hell did i buy that plastic greenhouse' but I've utilized that this year for raising off the ground other veg.
