........and the taste - distinctly average! Oh well, I've got other varieties growing, all still green :tongue2:, which will no doubt all ripen when I'm away....................

Well my tomatoes at work have exactly 10 days in which to ripen before we break up for summer. They're in an internal courtyard so I can't harvest/ water when school is closed :(

I must admit I didn't think about when they'd be ready when I planted them lol

oh well there's always green tomato chutney I suppose :)

First year I've grown toms from seed,  bush variety latah, two nearly ready, a couple of days, and about four others pale red and they have been outside only covered over to protect from frost.

I gave some to a friend who harvested them two weeks ago in the polytunnel.

Will grow again next year lovely flavour.

You mean tomatoes turn red???
Are you sure, I have lots and lots of cute green ones, in many shades!- have tried talking to them about this and they seem to be ignoring me!
Very often quite lost- would be more lost if I could work out where I was!- But always find my way home.....

We are all away next week so reckon we might miss the first red tomato :(

How do the commercial growers get a complete truss  all the same size and all red at the same time.  I have some trusses with quite big fruits at one end and flowers at the other

...and i wonder why when its been so warm that our tomatoes  are still green. A lot of mine look big enough to be red , perhaps they'll all go at the same time  Typical ::)
