Sheesh, its a different world down with you guys  :nowink:  Those weeks in May when I was watering every night feel like a long, long time ago now  ::)  I get the feeling everything in my patch is just waiting for a decent warm spell to get going again (beans, courgettes, squash, carrots).

It is a tad warm and dry down here... How you can cope with a much shorter growing season I don't know. It'd be over before I found the seed packets!!

I havent noticed too much difference in growing season from what I gather, but Ive only been doing this 2 years now.  However, the weather is another story.  I guess you just have to be selective what to grow - for example, this is the last year I even try squash, zero fruit in 2 years

Of course, the scenery and peace & quiet kind of makes up for the wet, IMO.  Each year I comment how green everything is, but this year is just amazing - must have been the heatwave followed by this wet cool spell we have had.

Some people think Scotlands biggest resource over the next century will be water, and I tend to agree.  Watch out for water tankers heading to SE England, Spain etc

Shhh.... keep it quiet: We are drilling holes and laying pipes from the sunny south right into the bottom of a number of lochs...
Look out Nessie, you could end up in someone's bath in Brighton!!

We had heavy rain here last night so the plot has had a soaking, and if were really lucky the water butt will be topped up to...

It looks as if the clouds have been drained and diluted on their way down to us... we've got a grey blanket and fine damp almost-rain  ::)

Us too, we got soaked coming back from the Indian restaurant. It was great!

If only!!!!!!!!!!   we had a spit about 8 last night and that was it not even enough to wet the floor let alone water the veg.
The reward of a thing well done is to have done it....

We had nearly 24 hours rain in cumbria friday/saturday and showery weather all week forecast so things have had a good soaking.
I just hope this isnt the end of summer like the last two years  :(

we have now had 100 days without any rain whatsover in my part of suffolk

Colchester is the nearest site I can find (about 20 miles South of here) with good historical records, which I've taken to be reasonable representative of the area. Digital note to self: Get posterior into gear and put up the little weather station I bought over a year ago :(

http://www.tijou.co.uk/weather/index.html

that shows 50% of normal in June and May and only 25% in April

I should have watered my Spuds more, and I haven't watered my Raspberries at all - how DO you water a row of raspberries? I suppose I could put the oscillating sprinkler on very narrow "throw" and put it alongside the row, but I reckon a breeze will carry the water onto the paths a bit, and I hate to waste. Or a seep-hose but the bed is 4' wide - double row maybe? Too much indecision I should have just done one or the other :(

Well did a little rain dance and we've got some promising dark clouds now.  Just hope we get a decent downpour to revive everything - me included

I think it should be mandatory that everyone doing a rain dance should video it and post it here  ;)

some things are just not suitable for a forum like this.

I always thought people had to be naked to do a rain dance
