electric fending advice needed
« on: July 07, 2010, 17:09 »
we have taken delivery of 50 metres of electric fence to protect our three new chickens and need help!  How do you get the sides to stay taut? The manufacturer has supplied poles and tent pegs but no matter how we try the sides are tight at the bottom but collapse in at the tops.  Also any tips on lawn cutting with the fence in position- I understand the grass has to be short to prevent earthing but I dont have to move it every two weeks do I?
3 dogs, 8 chickens, 4 rabbits 2 guinea pigs, 10 quail, 2 fish and a demanding daughter who has gone to uni and left me with 29 animals to care for!!=)

Re grass. I put damp proof rolls under my netting. Available from builders merchants and not expensive, comes in different widths. :)
Experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted!!
