I live in northumberland, we have an allotment which is struggling in the dry weather this year!
However, my real problem is the cucumbers not developing in the greenhouse! I cannot remember its variety, but it is growing vigorously with lots of tiny cucumbers behind the flowers. There have been no male flowers. The female cucumbers are not developing. I have tried pollinating from one flower to the next with a brush but to no avail! The cucumbers refuse to grow and eventually drop off! I have also fed them tomorite, and I water them daily.
Any suggestions?
I have never had any sucess with cucumbers, usually they get stem rot, or the seeds don't germinate. They are proving to be a very frustrating mission!
