First Timer
« on: July 04, 2010, 23:29 »
Hi,

Im growing a few vegetables for the first time in my back garden and have encountered a few issues:

The leaves on my beetroot have turned brown (ones in containers and in the ground)

I think I may have black fly (several small black bugs) on my courgette flowers

Could you tell me what may be the problem, whether I could solve it organically and whether the veg will be edible?

Many Thanks for any advice

Rachel

the black bugs on the courgette flowers are probably pollen beetles and nothing to worry about

Not sure about your beetroots. Have you been giving them too much water by any chance?
