Hi all,
Can anyone shed light on what the proper name for a walking onion is,apparently it grws onions on the top of the plant,it also has 2 fang like things at the topof the plant as well.Also does anyone grow field beans to eat as apposed to green manuring,dothey taste nice.?

the species name for walking onions is proliferum or tree onions or egyptian walking onions hope this helps

I've never bothered trying field beans as there are so many specific garden beans available that I'm partial to. But yes, field beans are edible. If they're in a mix with pasture seed, you'll spend some time gathering them.

I've eaten field beans - a friend shelled them and removed from their outer coating, then quickly included them in a stir fry.  Very tasty
