Our Cockerel has attacked our 4 week old chicks.  Does the cockerel need to be seperated from his own offspring at this age or is this normal behaviour?  There seems to be alot of feathers in their pen, all of which are his colouring which we have put down to the hen protecting her chicks.  Any comments would be helpful
