Basically what it says up there :D
My chickens are to have a largish run for three of them about 7x7 meters,  I want to plant it up as much as possible with fodder for them, have already put in some gorse and set aside a space for chickweed and fathen.  Any other bushers or plants that I can put in to help feed them.
I am try to work on a permaculture basis and am building the coop next to the Greenhouse.
Thanks in Advance
Carlie

I reckon you will need to partition it since they will let nothing grow on an area they are running on

As WG says, If the chickens have access to the space nothing will grow.  The little JCBs will dig the lot out  :!:

I think they would probably be able to fell an oak tree

Hi Carlie  :) I agree wholeheartedy with all the comments about excavation  our hen part of the garden has been laid waste and now resembles a lunar landscape with lakes in interesting places because of all the rain
My one trick to give them the occasional bit of grass in there is to turn an old aquarium over on a little patch of ground and the grass has a chance to grow back underneath it - the greenhouse effect!   It takes about a fortnight to grow back to a decent length, then as soon as I take the tank off it's gone within 30 minutes  :? Best of luck   :!:  :!:

Cheers for all the replys , yes I will probably partition off a section , was hoping If I gave the plants a head start they might last a bit longer, Will they eat things like cranberries and rasberries as I was going to put a few bushes in.   Really need to do some more research lol.
