Now that my onions have fallen over what do I do now? 
First success with onions so well pleased with them.

Winter ones I assume.

Ease them out of the ground, let them dry on top for a few days, then remove to a dry place to thoroughly dry out.

Yes they are the Japanese ones. Thanks DD, will it matter if rain gets on them or should I take them indoors.

Actually there's a whole heap of gunk coming in from the south west!

Regarding drying the onions, for the first few days I never worry about an odd shower, but then they get moved indoors. They should be dried as much as possible for maximum storage length,  although Japanese onions are not renowed for their storage properties.
