Brooding mum moulting
« on: June 25, 2010, 22:05 »
Hi all My black rock has 3 week old chicks she is looking after. I've noticed lots of her feathers dotted around although she doesn't look to be obviously moulting....no bald patches or anything.
Is this normal or she lacking something?
Hope you can help

don't worry she will be fine - it sounds just like a partial moult (she would have already lost quite a few feathers when she was sitting on the eggs so that her skin would help keep the eggs warm).  :)
Staffies are softer than you think.
