« on: June 25, 2010, 07:06 »
On the leaflet I got with my flubenvet it says not to breath the dust bit everytime I give the tob a shake when I open it dust seems to plume out!! is it really something to worry about?  at best I suppose I'll be wormed ha ha

I'm sure you will be fine but might be worth not shaking it when you open it!
Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.

It's not because it's Flubenvet, it's because it is a very fine dust which will get all the way to the alveoli (the last bits where the blood swops carbon dioxide for oxygen in the lungs) and the carrier contains materials which can cause a reaction when in those tiny tubes. All dusts can be harmful whether inert or not. Best hold the tub down on a table when opening it - you're also less likely to spill the expensive contents  ;).

alternatively buy a 'dust graded' face mask from local hardware shop or store.
