Bit dark so I can't see the leaves, but the flowers do look like bindweed, but also like convulvulus.   Can you get a creeping convulvulus DD?

But then, if it doesn't creep, its not bindweed either!  :D

I thought that's generally what convulvulus does!

Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Had a nosey at pictures of both and it could be either (I think it is bindweed but am hoping it is convulvus)  will have a go tomorrow at taking some more pictures and hopefully will get an answer.

Thank you every one for your input - wander if I can get her to grow Russian Vine instead.

In law.. kill it - it's criminal damage, (let them try & put a value on bind weed though).

You can cut can anything growing onto your property, but the trimmings belong to the owner. Dispose of it without pemission - technically it's theft. You have to offer them back. Crazy world. If it's on your property, you do not have to have permission.

Yeah knotweed is a notifiable weed, as it is a complete thug.

The convovlulus (bindweed) could have been mistaken for the very pretty annual of the same family, but is actually not invasive like its perennial cousin. The annual type has lovely blue flowers and is quite dainty as a climber.

If it wasnt a mistake then someone needs educating.

How quickly could they clear a square metre of bindweed? Do you have to keep them in an enclosure?

It all depends on what type you have how many and age. Bindweed is part of their varied weed diet their are some weeds that are poisinous to them but equally their are laods that are not.

I do keep my tortoises in inside and outside enclosures purely because i have different species of tortoise and they are not allowed to mix but if your garden is escape proof you can leave them to free roam (in the summer)as long as they have places to hide, places to shelter, somewhere to sleep and importantly access to water at all times.

If you would like a link to a good tortoise forum send me a pm and i will send it to you.

Kind regards Nicky
