Me too... Chap near me cut the tops off several rows... before discovering (through discussion with others) that it really wasn't blight   :blink:  :ohmy: last year!!

We removed the whole 8x3 foot raised bed, expecting hardly any crop and got seventeen and a half pounds

and they are perfect no slug damage, no bad ones perfect. all similiar sized slightly bigger than a small bean can, which considering they went in last of all the spuds, and looked like they had half as much green and not a single flower, we are quite pleased  :D

we are now spraying the rest just incase  ;)

Nice spuds, but you would have got more, surely,  if you had just taken out the dodgey one and left the others to mature?

we have another seven beds yet and i needed to either buy supermarket ones or take these, no trouble in deciding on that  ;)

i think its caterpillars on the first pic it looks like caterpillar poo the black spots when you dug them did you inspect the stalks and the soil to see anything.

Nothing at all on plant or soil, we have sprayed the others tonight just incase

You've wasted your money BQ.

It's either a Calcium or Phosphorous deficiency - not sure which, could be both.  What have you fed them with ?

we were going to spray them anyway (hubby adds nothing new there then) hes on about me spending again.

They have had potato fert, comfrey tea, nettle tea, etc etc they have had it all and abit more  :lol:
