How to save garlic crop that has white rot??
« on: June 21, 2010, 19:58 »
Hi

My garlic crop is infected with white rot  :(, I have pulled up most of the bulbs and binned any showing signs of white rot, I have been drying the bulbs that looked ok.

However, as they are drying they seem to be rotting!  I have used some of the cloves 'green' and they seem to taste ok.

I dont want to sit and watch my 50+ bulbs rot, is there any way I can preserve them , using olive oil or something similar?????

All help appreciated, if possible good instructions on what I need to do before they all rot  >:(

Cheers

I've never had a problem with rot with my garlic, but I always 'peel and then blitz' in a food processer and cover with white wine vinegar.  I am still using 2008 garlic stored like this.
