All back together, I set the air gap to 18 thou, first pull on the starter cord and the little 'ol beaver, my new name for her, fired, second pull and she is running like a good 'un.

Happy to help those that will help themselves....
Take care of the old beast, and it'll run for a long while yet. Just make sure you keep any gearboxes well oiled. You Just can't get the brass gears inside anymore.

I'm always willing to help myself, much better as its cheaper and I know the work has been done and done properly.

Ye i'm gonna take good care of her.

Just one more thing, the tines on her are quite small and she has one per side, can I get bigger tines or will the engine not be able to turn them in the soil?

I wouldn't put anything on it that wasn't made for it. Bigger tines would increase tha amount of pressure in the gearbox, and as I said, the gears are just unobtainable unless you have them made by an engineer, and that isn't worth the expense.
