I like these... Any feedback from people who did this last year? How did they over-winter? How did they perform this year, etc?

Mine were a disaster. Some got too wet and rotted and some were too dry. I got a couple of strawberries but they were very poor quality, woody and not sweet.
The runners were from good plants on the allotment, so it must be the compost at fault..either not enough of it or something about the water absorbent properties of it. I did feed them.

I had one of those strawberry tubs some years ago and that failed too. Perhaps it is my growing technique? I do well with them in the ground.

just came accross this thread( dont know where it had been hiding) brilliant idea which i shall be doing have loads of milk cartons waiting tobe put in to use i dont see any problems about placing them on you shed wall so long as its south facing or gets full sun all day

I agree, but to avoid lots of holes in the side of your shed, erect a trellis sideways maybe? Just a thought  :unsure:
