Someone has offered blanched barley to me. Would this be alright to feed to the chooks?

I ffed mine boiled pearl barley and they love it, not too much though only as a treat if they are layers, becuase if they fill up on barley and do eat enough layers mash/pellets they wont lay nice egs

Barley is soooo fattening - more so than oats.

If your were to give it to your girls I would do so in very limited amounts - like a teaspoon per hen.

When I buy mixed grain for fowl it never has barley in it, only wheat, oats and maize.
