Hi as I grow all my seed in plug trays I find it to be very expensive when it comes to potting on as I have to buy pots or cell trays for them all dose any one no how I can make it cheaper when potting on.   Thank you

toilet rols kitchen rolls cut in half or the famous newspaper pots

cut plastic milk bottles in half and use as pots. Make dividers from the lid of Icecream boxes and use to divide the box into quarters. Use marge tubs.

People are always giving pots away on freecycle.  I know, I've done it twice myself!!  :D

Don't suppose you are near South Lincs Cakebaker?  I've still got some left, but they are mostly only 3inch pots!

I’m not but my nephew lives close bye I can ask him if he is willing to call and collect them for me. Any size pot is useful to me.

Have PM'd you back!  I've got a lot of the punnets tomatoes come in too if they are any use?  I won't have many tomatoes myself this year, so won't need them now.

I usually find fellow allotmenteers leave loads of plant pots of all sizes on the freeby table at the allotment. Then there's nearly every container which we throw away from our weekly shop. No need to buy plant pots - the majority of which end up in landfill.
