The two punishments are unrelated but apart from Aunty's naughty step, severe cases might get called a wassuck by muntjac.

Muntjac normally awards this accolade on posting any information which contravenes the policies of (a) the Royal Navy or, (b) his mum.  Mumtjac (as she is presumably known), taught him all the bits that the Royal Marines didn't.

Sadly, muntjac has been posted AWOL from this forum for quite a while now.

I'll stick with the naughty step.....I usually get sent there for not answering quiz questions with due deference and respect :roll:

Can you feel her crop - is it normal?

I've just been and had a feel compared to the other two I have you can hardly feel it at all. and been soundly squawked at for attempting it

as for naughty steps there's always the equipment shed, we don't have one in there.

Sorry thought you meant the shemale one. The one with the bare breast, her crop feels fine not too hard or anything like that, no other symptoms,eats well, drinks etc poo became a little loose a couple of weeks ago, but they all did and I'd just wormed them so I thought nothing of it, poo normal now brown with a white top, in fact out of the three I think she is the only one laying.

Aunt Sally the baldness seems to stop just about the middle of drumsticks.

That sounds right for  a brood patch.  Is she showing any other broody behaviour  :?:

Keeps making nests in strange places , but I've blocked those up so she's laying back in the nest box, she did ruffle her feathers at me the other day when she was laying, I suppose being a hybrid, she will quickly forget about the whole idea.    as long as she is healthy I can put up with the odd behaviour.

If she is still laying she is working her way up to being broody I'd say.  If she stops laying you'll have to try to cool her body down to snap her out of it.  Don't let her stay in the nest box, unless you want to hatch some eggs.

There's lots of methods to break a broody if you need to.

thanks Aunt Sally I've read about broody birds etc but never had one.
So I've got a broody hen, a possible transexual gender confused one, and one thats being normal    Ain't I lucky  :!:

Thats about right!
I have had one hen which then grew into to all appearances a cockerel - it even trod the other hens :shock:

Your broody hen - keep off all feedstuffs like barley as she needs to keep cool to break the brodiness. The best and quickest way is in a wire mesh cage - floor too.
