we have discovered there are a lot of ants in the nesting box.  does anyone know if this will be a problem for the chickens. and also does anyone please know of any chicken friendly way of solving the problem. it would be impossible to move the coop to find the nest. i'd appreciate any tips as we are new to chicken keeping so things like this are maybe a worry when they dont need to be, thanks

Hi Janity,
i'm new to this too! and i'm having a similar problem. tons of ants keep nesting in the corner of my coop. I know they're probably not a problem for our little hens but it doesn't stop us from worrying, does it?  Perhaps theres an organic way of getting rid? I hope someone knows, or maybe has ideas on how to keep creepy crawlies at bay. Any help would be very much appreciated. 
let me know if you find any way of shoo-ing the ants away. my little chooks don't seem interested in pecking at them at all.
