Think I have Redcurrants.
« on: June 06, 2010, 12:07 »
I had a few fruit bush's that I inherited with the plot & to start with they had little ting what looked like gooseberries. My Dad said they where probably red/black/whitecurrants.

I checked today & he appers to be correct. Some of the fruit is turning bright red.

So it looks like I have Redcurrents, how do i know when to pick them & also how do i know if it actualy IS Redcurrants?

I generaly just stick things in the ground green side up.

Can you post a piccie on here?  Redcurrants have an almost see-through jewel red appearance, unlike rowans, for example, which are a solid orangey-red colour.  Don't know if that helps!

Pick them when they are really red and juicy.

A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.
