Don't worry about feeling inferior, vegmandan has been growing giant veg for years. Unless you aspire to winning competitions then you have nothing to worry about.

OH's allotment is next to a lovely old chap whose had his plot for 40 years and it's as immaculate as vegmandans, so I'm completely used to feeling inferior
