I made the mistake of putting mine out a month to early, they turned purple and from the advice given here I put them back indoors and so far kept them alive but they are making slow progress, I am hoping a heat wave will bring them back on track, they are back outside now and have been for 2 weeks.

Dribble - Id love a nice fresh tomato.  :(

The most advanced I have is about the size of a marble and very green.

I have some tomatoes called Gartenperle - must be the same one, but the teutonic version :)  Is it a bush variety?   Mine were sown on 11 February and have been in the greenhouse until a couple of weeks ago but are now in the cold frame as space is tight.  A few green tomatoes but if this weather keeps up they will be ripenig soon.  Congratulations - do they taste good?

I did the same too, and they are shooting nicely again now, so hopefully it won't have set them back permanently - have got spares next to the house, keeping warm. Hope they ripen earlier this year!

My 'garten pearl' and 'Sungella' have toms on them but not yet ripe.  They have been in the garden for two ish weeks now and were in the conservatory before that.  I'm surprised at the 'sungella'.  Last year it was the 'Red alert' that was first.  Planted in midmay.
