Lovely paris silverskin onions
« on: June 01, 2010, 17:27 »
Planted 8 just too see how they go, put them outside still in their seed tray, they had one row.  Completely disappeared, I am gobsmacked.  Was really pround of them an' all they had grown to about the half the size of a spring onion, and can't find them anywhere.

Especially after saying all these years I have no trouble growing spring onions and this year can't get them to come up.

Boo hoo

Guess I'm organic until I ever need to inorganic

Are you sure they're gone and not just finished growing and tops died off? They are very small so they wouldn't grow as long as anything else. Have a furtle and see if they're still there.

They're not that small, they're the two rows, slightly lighter green, left of centre. Most were 1" plus diameter when full grown.

Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

No can't find them had a furtle they were probably half grown then going by DD's inch.  They were in a seed tray, so not far too look.

DD looks like you grew them as a bunch like you can do with spring onions, I thinks thats what I will do.  I'll just do some more, they grew a lot quicker than my white lisbon spring onions anyway, whether they will do that again or not remains to be seen.

I'll let you know if I have had a senior moment and planted them somewhere LOL!!

Just sown thinly (for me), in a drill direct into the ground.
