creosote

My new coop arrived yesterday, so pleased with it,  just a wee question it has been painted with creosote inside and out, it was done friday, the guy delivered it to me last nite and there are a few little spots that are a wee bit damp and also it still has that smell about it,   will i leave it a few more days before putting the girls in, will the smell harm them.    nickyx

I'd be very surprised if it was creosoted as amateur use of creosote is illegal and professionals, with a creosote license, can only use it on buildings that have previously been creosoted, not on new ones.

It is VERY toxic so do check what has actually been used.
