Knobbly leg ???? any ideas please???
« on: May 31, 2010, 14:25 »
 :)

Hi all hope you are enjoying the bank holiday  :)

I have just picked up one of my hybrids a sussex star, and felt her legs. On one leg almost where a dew clew would be on a dog, is the best way I can describe it, is a little node. She does not have one anywhere else and her legs are bright clean and not at all scaly. It is not a wound and is the same colour as her leg.

I have tried to search in the pages for such a thing but it has come back with a negative search. It may be that it is some sort of genetic weird thing but I just wanted to check and ask the advice of the members.

Thank you once again for your knowledge and help

It's a spur bud, where, if she was a male, the spurs would grow from.

Nothing to worry about :D

Several of mine have these nodes aswell

It's more common for hens to have them as not... like men have nipples.
