Turnip pest trouble

Hi, I've had turnips growing for quite a number of weeks now and today i decided to pull my first one of the season as it looked just right! Unfortuntately once i pulled it i noticed some small critters were there before me and had destroyed the turnip.

Despite my efforts to try and identify the culprit/s I'm still non the wiser. If i had to describe them i would say that they're transparent, about 2mm long have small tentacles and a number of legs, quite a lot of them. They look like the larvea of something but unsure what apart from the fact that they're destroying my crop.

Can anyone help me shed some light on the case?
