I have/had 2 ISA Browns. One unfortunately broke her leg and the vet was unable to splint it as it was so high up.
Was going to cost hundreds £s so to put her out of her suffering sadly had her put to sleep. My other ISA looked sad, so we went out and got a speckeldy to keep her company - well, we introduced her at night - all was well!! Now every morning my ISA shouts her head off from about 5 in the morning, she is soooo cross and put out, but luckily still alive as the thought has crossed my mind to strangle her, as I'm sure it has crossed my neighbours mind!!
I go out and squirt her with a bit of water if she is going really bannanas and yesterday even caught her and put her in the cat carrier for an hour, which seemed to calm her.
I forgot to leave their door open last night (they are in a secured run) and so had to let them out at 5 when I heard a bit of noise, but I don't mind that so long as there isn't too much noise. I live in an urban area and don't want them to become a nuisance and more to the point don't want to fall out of love with her as I fear she will put me off the whole idea of having chooks and enjoying them.
Anyone had the same problem and how did you cure it and how long did it take to cure it??!!
