Not as bad as expected . The new girls
« on: May 23, 2010, 19:38 »
well here we go again, 6 new ex bats  :nowink:  Although very weak and some struggle to walk they are remarkably well feathered.

Still , one day they,ll look like the " owld Bat " 5 year old and rules the roost

congratulations on your new girls... they are lucky for falling on their feet with you and are not pies or dog food today

We got three from a Henrehomers rescue last weekend (Burton on Trent).

Again, well-feathered birds, much more so than the 4 we got a couple of years ago.

Our old girl Lizzie is now impressing on the new girls that she is the boss, but one (the smallest of course  ;)) is giving as good as she gets.  They woke me up at 4:45am on Sunday  >:(

Happy days!

As soon as i can have more room i would like to get some ex- battery.
They really don't deserve to be kept locked up in the conditions they do.
Are they more difficult to look after which i have read somewhere?

They look quite happy in your pictures  :)

just back from a week in France ( working )  so no chance to reply till now.

They really are doing well, 5 walking well and 4 laying well. Still one of them not walking nrmaly, sort of " duck like " not ableto stretch her legs but bar this seems happy enough.

As for harder to look after ??????   Noooooooooo  they are great fun and turn into right little characters  :D  Long you are not looking for show stoppers  they are easy to care for after the first day or two, although you have to spend hours and hours with them.......... at least thats what I tl the OH  ::)  ::)  ::) shhhhhhhhhhhh
