What next ?
« on: June 14, 2007, 15:55 »
So far, I've got the following growing at the allotment

Potatoes
Cabbage
Cauli
Sprouts
Broccoli
Parsnips
Carrots
Onions
Leeks
Second crop potatoes
Sweetcorn
Peas
Broad Beans
Runner Beans
Dwarf Beans
Lettuce
Beetroot
Gooseberries
Raspberries
Strawberries

I am just starting to dig some of my early potatoes and thought I would put carrots in when they are out.

This is my first year, and I am just wondering what I should do next ?

If the weather is as bad there as it is here the next thing you should do is build an Ark!!!!   :)
You can take a horse to water....but a pencil must be lead!!
(No chemicals ......yet!)

Congratulate yourself I should think!  Well done.

Keep everything well weeded.  Plant beetroot, lettuce, coriander for succession.  Turn compost heap.  Make new compost heap.  Source manure for garlic bed.  Prepare seed beds for Jul/Aug sowing of spring cabbage, spinach, wallflower, etc

Post again if you have any free time after these!

Yes, I'm sure the weather is just as bad here, however, at least now I can say 'the allotment needs the rain'

Get yer deck chair out, put your feet up and have a rest whilst surveying your lottie empire.  Then you will be sure to spot a few weeds to remove!

Oh and enjoy munching on your lottie grown produce  :)
