Anyone grown patio fruit trees?

Just wondering has anyone had success growing patio fruit trees?? (apple, peach, plum etc)? Ive just bought a plum tree and its in a small pot (tree is about 4ft ish) can i replant into a bigger one or should i wait untill autumn? I dont think its blossomed this year if that helps...

I have two patio trees, but know nothing about looking after them. The apple was a valentine's gift (cos I get flowers all the time.) We re-potted it and it has flowered and is in full leaf now. The cherry we bought from the club supermarket £7, as a dry twig and although it didn't flower it is looking healthy.
