Ashford is only about 20 miles or so from  me.  I'm in Maidstone.

And for sure you can't shoot crows in your back garden

Looks good Aunt Sally

You could just remove the breast meat to save plucking them all over and make a nice casserole.

Hi, dont have chooks yet but soooooon and was wondering if magpie's and crows are always a problem?  We have lots around so should I just expect problems or wait and see.  Its quite rural so they are quite alert and nervous and dont but dont hang around when they see me so

No not always a problem, I personally don't have any probs at all, But  they are natural opportunists. So if they find a food source they will use it.

It's really a wait and see job IMHO.

Around here it's not my food they are after it's the !@#$ water. It hasn't rained since Feb or Mar. The town is under a stage 3 water emergency when we lost the main pump on #4 well head. D*** thing is 600ft down and they are geting one from Wilcox, Az to get up again.  My North facing shed thermometer I just checked is PEGGED out at 120deg F. My chooks aren't saying buck , buck. It's more of a honk noise that sounds like hothotHOT!!    I'm the mad dog out in the sun trying to keep cool water to the crew. I'm going to have to breakdown and install a mister system in the chook shed this weekend or risk loosing some.

All the flooding in the mid-west is OUR monsoon. B@#% thieves  . At only 10% humidity no sign of the summer storms.  As we say "it'll get here monsooner or later! When you only get 12 in. of rain a year at best, the least drought stresses the whole system.  Will somebody exlain why my idiot geese won't go to shade but stand out in the full blast of the sun??
