Sorry looking tomatoes... any ideas?
« on: May 15, 2010, 13:31 »
Hello there
I'm an enthusiastic novice gardener and I appear to have a problem with my tomatoes. Can anyone help me to identify this leafy disaster please? Does this look like blight (I don't know what to look for) or (fingers crossed) is it a more benign issue? I have 6 plants and 3 of them are starting to look quite wonky. Have posted a picture and would be really grateful for any replies. Many thanks.

where have they been growing? Have they been kept in a humid atmosphere, as they look as if maybe they got a bit 'mouldy' at some stage and then it dried up

Too early for blight, so I wouldn't worry about that :)

ps Welcome to the forum....just noticed  :D

My money maker tomatoes look quite sorry for themselves too. I've lost one already and the others aren't looking too great either much like yours but curled inwards too! The other kinds are doing really well so I don't think it's how I care for them that's the problem I await the experts response to you. :)  Mines are still indoors on the windowsill.

Hello and thanks for speedy replies!

They were in a cold frame for a while and I moved them into my new :))) polytunnel a couple of days ago. I really am a novice and am hoping I don't have to learn from too many mistakes.  So a humid atmosphere it has been... Good news about the blight though!
