Hi all,

new to this forum and am after a little experiential advice/knowledge...

I have a 2yr hen who, within 2 weeks, lost her life-long bf who I had to get ride of & gained 4 new POL girls...this was approx 5/6weeks ago. Within the past 2/3weeks she has become terrifically aggressive towards me and other humans who enter the garden. Prior to this, she was extremely placid and took some time to climb to the top of the pecking order (initially submitting for some time to one of the new POL girls)

Any ideas why she is so aggressive? advice?

not sure why she is being aggressive possibly she may think you are going to get rid of one of her new found friends, but try wining her round again with a few treats such as mealworms, sweetcorn, banana etc. It may take a few weeks for her to become friendly again but it will be worth it in the end

It`s the rise to the top that does it, power corrupts.

Pick her up and handle her and put her down when YOU are ready. She will soon realise who the top hen really is.

Handle her as much as possible and give her some treats, she will soon come around.
