Trimming busy lizzies
« on: May 13, 2010, 14:30 »
I bought tiny plug plants ages ago, of course I have had to keep them indoors longer than usual.

They have got very tall (well tall for busy lizzies if you see what I mean) leggy and straggley waiting to go out.   I was wondering wether to give these ones a trim and where to trim, or would it kill them.

Pinching out tips makes them side-shoot and get more bushy so I would say go ahead but wait for a more experienced gardener to back me up (or not!!!)

I think you are right vietta, I'll wait but I'm sitting on my hands LOL.

I think (I think a lot LOL) this year I might try cuttings now of my busys, geraniums and toms.  As they all look pretty leggy and rubbish in waiting.
