At the weekend i planted out my cauliflower and brocolli as they were growing really well in the conservatory and taking up valuable room for which was need to sow more seeds.

Now ive read on the forum about the frosts and how bad it is for some types of veg etc. Will my Cauliflower and brocolli be ok?  Not that there is anything I can do now anyway  :(

Thanks

M Clark  :D

They'll be fine as they're very hardy

They will probably be fine. Although they might have needed hardening off. If you are worried put some cut off pop bottles or supermarket plastic trays over them. Mind the slugs though, they don't seem to be affected by the cold.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

I agree with Noshed. They will probably be OK, but straight from conservatory to cold outdoors could be a bit of a shock. They could have done with hardenening off first, but brassicas are tough old things which didn't really need to be in the conservatory in the first place.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I didn't have an netting spare for mine and thought I could keep an eye on them for Cabbage White Fly eggs - but the pigeons beat me to it :(

Fingers crossed then i guess  ::)
I checked on them today and all seems ok apart from some of the cauliflowers have white blotches on the lower leaves.

Brocolli seems fine though so hopefully all is well.

Blimey! Mine do that most years (I always assume its a sign of Neglect / Abuse!) but they do produce a crop.

It's the very cold weather that we've had.  It's checked them badly.
