Alotment Planting out
« on: May 09, 2010, 15:33 »
Well managed to plant out Runner Beeans and sweet corn carrots parsnips beetroot swede got some cabbage to do and cauliflower and leeks and celery and celeriac to do this week hope the weather lasts. Fruit trees doing well all in blossom must cover the cherrie trees to stop the birds but have not found a way to stop those cleaver squirls yet they always have a trick or two up there sleeves, might put some cabbage and cauli into my pollytunnel to see how they grow might stop the slugs having a good feed on them, grape vines starting to grow now might get some fruit this year i hope, got some giant sunflower plant to plant out should give a bit of colour and perhaps keep the birds busy and leave the rest of the stuff alone

You're a bit early with those beans & sweetcorn, in my opinion. We are forecast frosts and low temps all week here. One whiff of frost and they will have had it.

Keep a good eye on the forecast and fleece if need be.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Was going to plant up this weekend but far too cold will leave a bit longer until it warms up - if it ever does! Greenhouse now to full capacity  :(
