Pelargoniums
« on: May 06, 2010, 11:33 »
Just had a delivery of pelargoniums cuttings and instructions say pot up in John Innes No2 which I don't have, do you think a 50:50 mix of John Innes No3 and multi purpose compost will do the job or should I do as I'm told?!!!!!! Many thanks, Jude.

I bunged mine in something compostie that came in a bag - it worked well enough last year too.

I think not over-watering them and keeping them frost-free is more essential than the type of compost they go into. Tough, unfussy things normally.  ;)

Learner good point about the watering, I think I'm a little too enthusiastic with the watering can and forget they prefer it on the dry side, thanks, Jude.
