Grass cuttings

I read somewhere else that hens will appreciate grass cuttings to root about in, however as a horse owner too, from a horse's point of view grass cuttings can be lethal. I know my hens appreciate any greenery they can get - should I be giving them my grass cuttings?

short clippings are ok so long as any not eaten within a short time span are removed as they can start to ferment very quickly. Don't give long pieces as they can lead to impacted crop

dont give grass that has any treatments, weed and feed or verdone etc

Yes, feeding the chickens long bits of grass could result in an impacted crop. I guess short cuttings are okay

I don't feed mine grass cuttings just to be on the safe side. I let them peck away at the growing grass in the garden themselves.
