HedgeHogs Houses.............
« on: June 10, 2007, 17:34 »
As you can see from my profile I am trying to be Organic as I possibly can.

I have heard of Hedgehog Houses which you put on your plot and hopefully get inhabited by Hedgehogs who then scurry around at nighttime eating all the slugs.

Has anyone experience of these houses and if they are worthy and where they can be purchased from?

Many Thanks

In view of the predicted hard winter thought I'd bring this post back up to the top.

Flatcap, have you got your pic and instructions yet?

Also is there anything extra to do for toads and frogs, and other beneficial creatures/insects?

Yes, all useful advice appreciated, plunkers keep away, I mean they say you can make one just out of cardboard boxes and so on, but forever it's just rats nesting here.

Hmm might go for the Mk 3 with one of the many somerfied plastic baskets I acquired.

Don't know why they'd need an exhaust pipe as per the Mk 2.

I'd love to use a hedgehog for slug control, but somehow I'm not sure I'll be able to give up pellets.  Would that be no good for Mr Hogg?
