comb colour
« on: May 01, 2010, 10:38 »

Hello,

One of our ex bats has always had a slightly blue tinged comb.  It's not all the time as it comes and goes and she seems absolutely fine - just wondered if I should be concerned as I've read on here it could be anything from vit B deficiency, to lack of oxygen to kidney problems...  I plan to feed her some toast and marmite today and they get poultry spice in their food mix.

The same hen has also had a paler comb than the others of recent weeks (apart from the blue tinge).  She really does seem absoluetly fine - I cant see evidence of red mite and she was wormed in January.  I cant tell if she's laying although all 3 have started laying less now as I think they are getting a bit older (2-3 years old and ex bats)...

Should I be worried, or is this just part of her make-up?

Cat

I wouldn't worry too much, try the marmite (just a little bit though not too much) and check that you are feeding them a good quality feed that isn't out of date  :)
Staffies are softer than you think.
